The situation in Nepal is desperate.
Until now, through our local contacts, we have tried to find ways to provide as much help as possible amid the incredible chaos that ensued after the tragedy. Today, however, we are able to begin offering targeted assistance in various sectors.
During the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, aid efforts aimed at tangible solutions, such as building schools. Yet, when people face disasters of this magnitude, their primary needs are food, essential medicines, and shelter.
It would be wonderful to see support offered to those whose souls have been devastated –  to people who have lost everything and have no idea how to rebuild their lives. While such support is rare amid this horrific tragedy, the Nepalese people are so kind-hearted that they continue striving to help one another.
I will share specific details soon, thanks to a wonderful journalist who is working tirelessly on the ground.
The tragedy has struck a vast area, but in reality, it has affected all of Nepal. Many of those involved have families living far away, so the impact has been felt everywhere.
I will provide an update in a few days.
Thank you.
